This year Sebastian Bergne celebrates over 10 years contributing to the Product and Furniture Design courses at Kingston School of Art. The award winning courses at KSA have an international reputation and represent the highest level of design education in the UK.

The MA course welcomes designers from varied disciplines who want to redefine the design and making of products and furniture and see conventional notions of product and furniture design as a starting point, not a limit, to individual or collective output. Its ambition is to consider both the real and imagined design, creating positive change for people, communities, spaces, and places. Students ‘make’ and ‘do’ through a studio and workshop culture that is experimental and evolves both the theoretical and practical.

If you’re considering a career in professional design, the BA course provides the traditional skills, knowledge and practical experience you’ll need. Design work covers domestic and commercial furniture, housewares and ceramics, industrial and technology products. Using our extensive workshops, you’ll have a platform for experimentation and discovery. You’ll study key themes, such as sustainability, manufacturing and the roles that designers play in industry.
