A light hearted take on the paper hat, Bob is easy to make yourself from repurposed card and keeps you cool. Just collect some card from your recycling (cereal packets work well) download the pattern here, gather some simple household tools (printer, scissors or knife, strong paper glue or tape) and you’re underway simply by following the instructions.

If you’d like to adjust the size, simply adjust the scale of your paper printout by a few % when you print your pattern. There are also different sizes and proportions. The XXXL version is a lamp shade. More to come…

Bob was originally created by Sebastian Bergne as part of the The unboxing show during the 2021 London Design Festival. The exhibition was curated by designer Peter Marigold who brought together designs by an array of international designers made out of previously used card and cardboard materials. The designs were made available to the public to build for free at the exhibition and are now available as free downloads.
