Lite Weight is Sebastian Bergne’s contribution to the exhibition 10 Al Cubo at the new marble design gallery In Marmo.

Even in an area famous for its marble, the quarries of Carrara are experiencing their own sustainability issues. As large blocks become more expensive to extract, they have an excess of smaller fragments. The response was this brief given to ten designers who were invited to create an object from a 10cm cubed piece of the famous marble.

Sebastian’s simple yet magical gesture aims to challenge what you might expect and suggest new possibilities for this majestic material. It will be produced in an edition of nine.
